when is the best time for maternity photos in san diego?
The sweet spot for maternity photography is between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage, your bump is beautifully round and prominent, yet you still have the energy and comfort to move and pose freely. Many mamas find weeks 30–32 to be their personal favorite.
That said, every pregnancy is different. If you’re carrying multiples or have a condition that affects your timeline, we can discuss what week works best for your unique situation during your free consultation.
Planning tip: Book your session during your second trimester (around weeks 20–24) to secure your preferred date. Popular weekend slots fill up 6–8 weeks in advance, especially in spring and summer.

How far in advance should I book my maternity session?
We recommend booking your maternity photo session during your second trimester — ideally around weeks 20–24 of your pregnancy. This ensures you have your choice of dates and that we have time to plan your session in detail. Last-minute bookings are sometimes available, but popular dates (especially Saturdays) fill 6–8 weeks in advance.
What should I wear for maternity photos?
Nothing — because we’ve got you covered! Our studio wardrobe includes over 200 gowns, bodysuits, wraps, and styling pieces for you to choose from at no additional cost. During your free consultation, we’ll talk about your vision and style preferences so your wardrobe selections are perfectly aligned with the look you want to achieve.
